Join the 2010 Titanic Team
Last Updated 1/18/10

Titanic Voyage II is now looking for the 2010 crew. This will be the first time we have invited volunteers to join our team and if you are interested please look over our list of available openings. As a Titanic Team member your job will depend on the role you chose to play. The main purpose of these special role characters is to provide historic people on board ship that passengers can actually talk to and interact with. In reality you are an actor playing a part. If you read over the different Team openings you will get a better idea of how each job works.

Titanic Crew:
Steward/Stewardess: The job of a steward/stewardess is very simple. As well as a number of rooms and places to explore on board ship, passengers have access to their cabins and state rooms. In the cabins and staterooms will be a topic titled "Ask your Steward/Stewardess" Here is where passengers can go if they are having difficulty finding their way around the message board, need help knowing where to post, have questions about events or hosting events, or maybe how to change their avatar or edit their profile page.

If you have any experience in being a forum admin, moderator, or just a long time member of your favorite message board you will be able to handle this job. If you have had no experience in any of this but think it is something you could easily learn then by all means feel free to apply for this opening. You will be given access to the Titanic Voyage board in time to get the feel of the ship, you will be given forum descriptions and all the information you will need to carry out your role as steward/stewardess, and at any time during or before the Titanic Voyage you will have a way to contact the admin. for help or advice.

Officers: Chief Officer Henry Wild, First Officer William Murdoch, Second Officer Charles Lightoller, Third Officer Herbert Pitman, Fourth Officer Joseph Boxhall, Fifth Officer Harold Lowe, Sixth Officer James Moody.... The officer's job is pretty much a moderator. Officers just keep an eye on the goings on aboard ship and take care of any inappropriate topics, language, etc. They report members who are not following board rules, and answer questions from confused passengers and direct them to their Steward/Stewardess. You will be given all the information you need to carry out your role as officer, and will know all passenger requirements, rules, and guidelines, as well as know your way around the ship.

The Role of Thomas Andrews Has Been Filled
Thomas Andrews: As the ship's designer it would be a good thing if you knew a lot about the Titanic, the ship's timeline, and little bits of interesting trivia. As Thomas Andrews you will mingle with passengers and answer questions in the "Ask Thomas Andrews" forum. Because of google search engine, wikapedea, and hundreds of references on the internet it isn't a necessary requirement to be a walking Titanic Encyclopedia. If you know how to use google and find the information you want you are well qualified for the job. You should also know a lot about yourself. Reading over a quick online bio. or looking at a few websites should take care of this.

J. Bruce Ismay: Chairman and managing director of the White Star Line your job will be to assist Thomas Andrews in the "Ask Thomas Andrews" forum by answering passengers questions and giving interesting Titanic Trivia. You will also interact with passengers through out the ship. If you know a lot about the Titanic, people, and timeline this job will be simple. But even if you need brushing up on your Titanic Trivia and facts you could really enjoy this Titanic Role. With the help of google search engine, wikepedia, etc. you will more then likely be able to find all the information you need to play a great J. Bruce Ismay. You should also know all about yourself. By reading a few online bio. or scanning a few websites you should be well prepared.

Passengers:
Molly Brown: (Margaret Brown) As the spunky, fun loving, card playing Mrs. Brown your job will be to mingle with the passengers. All you really need to know is your own history (as Molly Brown) and the part she played at the sinking of the Titanic. Besides Boarding Lifeboat #6 at the time of the sinking, the stories about the Unsinkable Molly Brown are thought to be fictional. So by playing this role it will be in your power to shape the true legend of Molly Brown.

John Jacob Astor: As the richest man in the United States it is apparent you are one of the Titanic's most honored passengers. Who wouldn't like to play this role. :) You should read up a little on the Astor family history. The real John Astor probably had a great mind for business, but don't worry... that is not a requirement here. Your job will be to mingle with passengers.

Madeleine Astor: As the wife of the richest man in the world and a star passenger aboard the Titanic you should read up on the Astor family history and get to know your own a little. Your job is simply to mingle with passengers.
